What We Grow and How We Grow It

Blue Flower Farm grows a variety of flowers for cutting and herbs for culinary use.  Then there are a few we just grow for our enjoyment, like Maria's Clarkes Heavenly Blue Morning Glories and the Irises and Roses Ed brought from his parents place.

For cuts our main crops are, in season:

Tulips

Peonies

Sunflowers

Zinnias

Dianthus

Foxglove

Dahlia

Larkspur

Lily

Statice

Globeflower

Echinacea

Phlox

Yarrow

Cosmos

Gladiolus

‚Äč

We also have a range of fillers plus anything Ed decided to try this year and what ever surprises us in the perennial bed.  You might also find a David Austin Rose or and old Bristol rose in a bouquet.

For Culinary Herbs:

Basil

Borage

Dill

Parsley

Tarragon

Rosemary

Oregano

Various Mints

We are not certified organic , but we do try to follow NOFA-NY guidelines and try to only use OMRI fertilizer and pesticides.  We try not use any pesticides, period.

Most of our fertilizer is provided by two miniature horses named Lulu and Macy and bunch of unnamed chickens that Ed keeps.

New this spring, we have MICROGREENS!

Mild or Spicy, a great addition to a salad,

colorful garnish and bite of goodness!

We are growing these to order,

so give Ed a call!
